They're blowing up the Woodrow Wilson Bridge at midnight!?

Dammit, this better not wake me up.

ETA: It sounded like distant thunder.

Have you no sense of excitement and anticipation? Nothing thrills the DC resident like odd explosions at awful hours with substantial damage. You didn't even touch upon MY favorite part:

...don't want to stall daytime traffic. The explosion will be similar to a thunderclap and severe enough that bridge officials will monitor nearby homes for damage, they said.

How unlucky are these residents? Does insurance cover this?

I can't imagine insurance covers that. Acts of God, yes. Acts of Government, no.

Seriously. Did you see the part about the school that needed triple panned windows and a new AC system so their students wouldn't be driven mad by the construction noise for months on end? I hope the explosion doesn't blow out their new windows.

Pfft. Too late for me to be going out and then driving home with work in the morning. I'm getting OLD.

Well, good thing they're not disrupting the traffic, imagine what would happen then. Instead, steal the sleep of all the drivers so they can't concentrate anyways. Go go government!

Well, at least Government ran a contest to see who wanted to blow the bridge up. Channeling all that agression into an inanimate object.

Explosions are nice. Just not when I'm sleeping.

No.

I wonder if I would wake up. I'm a really heavy sleeper.

So did it wake you up?

Well, I was awake anyway because I wondered if I could hear it. It sounded like far off thunder. So, it wouldn't have woken me, if I had been able to sleep.
