London is my favorite city in the world. It was the first city I ever lived in, the first city I ever thought I could live in, and the home of my fondest memories.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families, and the citizens of London.

I'm sorry something like this happened to a city you love so much.

Granted it would be better if this sort of thing never happened in any city. Still, that's all I could think to say.

Yes, it would be better if this kind of thing never happened at all. That's really all there is to say.

I can't understand it either. What does that accomplish?

Oh, it angers me when these barbarians think murdering innocent people is going to solve their problems. Why don't they grow up and try to work it out diplomatically, like civilized human beings, and stop tearing apart lives and families?

And if basic human decency isn't enough to turn them from their savage ways, they should at least realize that a great city like London isn't going to be set back. It's like poking a Tyrannosaur with a sharp stick.

And my heart goes out to everyone whose life has been shattered by terrorist attacks.

London is a great city. I'm certain Londoners and Britons will be up and about in no time.

It's painful to think that some people believe terrorism will actually accomplish anything or that it's a strategy that vindicates them.

I found this earlier today, and, upon seeing your post, thought you might enjoy it:

London will make it through, she already has through firebombs and the IRA. Every Londoner I've seen has reacted to the explosions with remarkable calm and/or with a shot of gallows humour. Admittedly, this is the country that brought us Monty Python so it's understandable they look on the bright side of life.

Oh, that's very nice.

Dark humor is the best humor, because it works in all situations. I know London will be back on its feet soon.

Sickness is catching...

This entire thing makes me sick. My sister married an army boy in April, and at his warrant officer graduation this guy got up to speak and all he talked about was the "war on terrorism". It's all SO STUPID. I'm so sick of this bloody war on terrorism. WHY do terrorist groups have to keep stirring things up? Why do we have to keep retaliating? Why do lives have to purposefully be destroyed?

It's funny-the day before we were hearing about how London won the olympic bid. Now we're hearing about how it was needlessly bombed. All my prayers and condolences to London.

I don't understand it myself, not really. Since no one has a confirmed claim on the attacks, no one even knows what it was for. It's just one more pointless act of violence.

I was so happy for London when they got the Olympics. It's a shame this had to happen so soon after such good news.

I was going to be up in London that day... boy am I glad I stayed home.

Right after Live 8 and the Olympic thing as well...

Glad your friends are all right, and that you didn't choose to go that day.

It's especially sad that this happened after London got the Olympics bid and the Live 8 concert. Everyone was so happy.

actually, its good it happened when it did. i mean, at least they were too cowardly to actually bomb the live 8 concert or the G8 summit. still, it sucks all those people had to die

True, there would have been a lot more causualties if the bombing had been at the G8 summit with all the people around.

Well, I hope your friends and their families are all right. It's a terrible thing for people to do.

It was a senseless waste, and the perpertrators are scum. I was on holiday at the time, and it was such a horrible, come-back-down-to-earth shock to see this on the news. It was my best mate's birthday and her parents were going to take her to see The Lion King in the West End. I was so relieved to hear she wasn't already in London, which is what I'd feared.

Of course so many people haven't been so lucky. My heart goes out to the injured and the families of the dead. There's just no getting through to terrorists that these attacks are pointless, hurt innocent people and don't further their own aims at all.

What makes me crazy is that these attacks don't do anything but hurt innocent people for no good reason. I'm not fond of hurting innocent people for good reason (if such a thing exists), but it makes me see stars when no one takes responsbility.
