I need a kick in the pants start.

MEME: The first fifteen people to comment on this post with a prompt get to request a drabble from you. In return, they have to post this meme in their journal (though, no pressure). Post all fandoms you’re willing to write for.

Um, the "fandoms [I'm] willing to write for" are pretty limited. I've only ever written extensively for HP, and mostly only about the bad guys. However, technically, I've also written for Bizenghast, Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings, so if you're feeling daring, you can request one of those.

Also, I loosely define drabble here, so it will be at least 100 words, but probably not that exactly.

Your Score: Sylar

You scored 29 Idealism, 62 Nonconformity, 45 Nerdiness

How can you stop what's coming... when you don't know anything about power?
Congratulation, you're Sylar, the artist formerly known as Gabriel Gray! You are a seriously nerdy person with an enormous desire to be different, and to be recognized for it. As long as you don't go eating brains, this doesn't have to be a bad thing at all. You're ambitious, intelligent, tenacious, and unique. Your best quality: Panache Your worst quality: An obsessive desire for recognition and power

So. Is anyone else out there "special?" Perhaps you could come by and we could discuss it over a nice meal of your brains...I mean, pad thai.

I usually don't do memes, but this one's kind of cute.

Here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, RHYTHMBOX etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...
7. When you're finished tag some other people to do it!

Opening Credits: Jennifer Page – These Days
[Wow, the movie of my life seems to be off to a really…perky…start.]

Waking Up: Little Mermaid – Poor Unfortunate Soul
[Whoops, spoke too soon.]

First Day of School: Stone Temple Pilots – Sour Girl
[Ha! This actually would have been appropriate for my first day of high school.]

Falling in Love: Dusty Springfield – You Don’t Own Me
[You’d think this would be further along in the relationship.]

Fight Song: Melissa Etheridge – This Moment
[Okay, I’m going about this relationship all wrong.]

Breaking Up: Dave Mathews Band – I Did It
[*dramatic sigh* Always destined to sabotage my own love life.]

Prom: Guys and Dolls – If I Were A Bell
[Apparently, I get drunk at my prom. Awesome!]

Life: Tina Turner – Proud Mary
[I never, ever do nothin’ nice and easy.]

Driving: David Bowie - Heroes
[So, I guess this means that this scene will also feature me singing loudly and dreadfully off-key.]

Flashback: Paul Simon – Loves Me Like A Rock
[Oh, shit! The Devil is calling my name! I must flashback to the love of my mother!]

Getting Back Together: Revolutionary Girl Utena –Revolution
[This…does not bode well for my relationship.]

Wedding: Nirvana – Come As You Are
[That’s actually a pretty good attitude with which to approach a wedding.]

Party: Dido – Hunter
[Aren’t I already married?]

Birth of A Child: Phenomenauts – The Year 2000
[It’s a bit late for that, chronologically speaking. Maybe it’s a metaphor. My child is a child of the future?]

Final Battle: OK Go – Invincible
[I don’t know why my up-to-now rather mundane life has a “Final Battle,” but I couldn’t think of a better song to go with it.]

Funeral Song: Population – When the Bullets Fly
[Did I just die in my final battle? At least this is a sweet, sad song to be cremated to. Though, I'll probably be buried, because that's more cinematic.]

Ending Credits: Jim Brickman and Rebecca Lynn Howard – The Simple Things
[Gloria, that’s sappy. Ugh, my movie makes me want to vomit.]

Well, I've done the movie meme, way back when, and since there were a couple of song memes on my friendslist, I decided to put on my MP3 player and come up with my own. These are 20 random songs, and I'm looking for the title and artist. Some of them have a cover (some several covers), so I'm looking for a specific artist. I'm going to screen comments so that if someone gets the title but not artist (or vice versa), someone else has a chance to pick up the artist or title. They shouldn't be too hard. I think a couple even have the song title in the lyrics. Please only take two songs at a time, so as other people can guess too. And remember, Googling makes the baby Elvis cry.

I really hope I don't embarass myself with this playlist )

Ten Ways to Tell You’re Reading a Fic by Evadne Noel

1. Lucius is so out of character that everyone else appears to be in character by comparison.

2. 90% of the fics have the following plot: Voldemort does something ill-advised, Snape snarks about it, Lucius has no idea what is going on and the rest of the Death Eaters stand around like rocks.

3. Minor details from earlier stories are destined to come back as lame jokes in future chapters.

4. All chapters are built around one single line; it is usually pretty obvious which one.

5. The narrator occasionally feels the need to talk to you directly; at length and not about anything of importance to the story.

6. The title is frequently the best joke in the story.

7. Voldemort never actually thinks up a plan; he just thinks about thinking up a plan.

8. At any given moment, Harry and Voldemort are approximately five seconds away from joining forces and screaming down the Death Eaters for being such idiots.

9. Dumbledore is a crafty, scheming, nearly omniscient, perpetually unworried, no-account, bad-gift-giving jerk.

10. Attempts to impose any type of continuity or sense are actively discouraged, as they will only result in massive headaches anyway.

From [livejournal.com profile] irvys_sefie because it’s just too much fun.

1. Go to the Elouai doll maker (http://elouai.com/).
2. Make an ordinary doll of yourself and save it.
3. Take that doll and, leaving a couple things (nose, eyebrows, whatever) the same, Mary Sue yourself. Make the most blatant Mary Sue you can conceive.
4. Post "Before" and "After" in your LJ. Bonus points if your Sue has a backstory of some sort.

Well, I'm chagrined.

I just took the Geek Test in [livejournal.com profile] musicgyrl14's livejournal, and it turns out that I'm only a level 2 (casual) geek. I only had 365 points! How pathetic.

I think I didn't score very well because my really geeky things are fanfiction and Harry Potter. (Or are those dorky?) The only geeky things on that list that apply to me are comics and anime (not even manga? What kinda crappy geek test is this!).

You know you're an English Major when:
by Noelle, Lisa and Erin

My friend Lisa and I came up with most of this list while wandering around Washington, D.C. on New Year's Day. It started in a Starbucks when I came up with the third quote on the list. From there, we came up with about 45 more English Major jokes until we drove back to Connecticut the next day. It was a lot of fun. We'd be looking at the Hope Diamond in the Natural History Museum, and Lisa would say, "Okay, how about...'You know who Frankenstein really is'?" We are both crazy English Majors. Or were. Technically we are both crazy English degree holders. Anyway, my friend Erin came up with a few more later in January.

Feel free to add more in comments. I can't say they'll be added to my list because I don't have final editorial say all by myself. But if you want one added, I'll ask Lisa, and if we put it on, we'll put your name after it.

I suspect Lisa and I will be adding to this list, oh, probably for the rest of our lives. Because even if we move on to other things, we are still, at heart, English Majors.
evadne_noel: A man and the cresent moon in a rowboat (sing along with hugh)
I've seen this in a lot of LJs, and thought, "Hey, I've seen a lot of movies." So here's the deal. I've put out a list of 25 movie quotes from some of my favorite movies. You tell me what movie each quote is from (no more than two per person, okay?), and I strike it from the list, name the movie and give the person who figured out what movie it was all the glory they deserve.

Don't worry these are largely very easy:

ETA: Well, all 25 quotes were named, and in only two days! Wow...if I ever do this again, I might need 50 quotes.
