So apparently, the feds decided it was worth their time and effort to send an actual agent to my apartment,* but not to return either of the calls I made requesting they tell me what the hell is going on.

I feel this is typical.

Oh, well. If it was important, I would know by now. I just hope my neighbor isn’t a spy.

*Admittedly, I live just outside of D.C., so this was not some sort of Incredible Journey,** but I hope the guy at least got paid mileage.

** I hope you are all picturing a be-suited, be-sunglasses-ed dude traveling across the Canadian wilderness accompanied by a Labrador, a bull terrier and a Siamese cat now, because I totally am.

Well, I am NOW.

Though, really, that description makes me think of Homeward Bound (http://imdb.com/title/tt0107131/), since I never saw the original Incredible Journey.

Also, this icon is relevant, because in Homeward Bound, there's a scene where the kids are playing the game this icon is from. :D

See, my problem is that I read the book before I saw the movie, so I always think of it as "Incredible Journey", but I picture the animals from "Homeward Bound." Celebrity voices and all.

Lol, I love that movie, but I don't remember any of the dialogue. That's quite a talent.

Man, I hope it wasn't Jack Bauer.

I was thinking about Maine. I really have no idea why.

Maine: also home to vast wilderness for animals and Secret Services agents to get lost in.

So they talked to you? But you don't know what's going on?

Nah, they haven't deigned to call me back, though I left messages.

Homeward Bound...ahh, my entire childhood. The memories, the memories...

I live right outside DC too! You know Silver Spring?

It's still an awesome movie.

I haven't been the AFI in ages, but I totally know where Silver Spring is.

Oh, I've never been to the AFI in my life and I've been living 20 minutes away from that part of town for about 12 years. It's cool finding someone so close by.

Dude. That would be a fantastic movie. Or a really bad one. FBI versus Cougar- ultimate showdown.

It would be fantastically bad, but I'd totally watch it. Especially for the heartwarming end when the agent falls into a the hole and says he has to be left behind, only to be rescued by his animal pals.

That's not fair - I live in China for crying out loud, and I've never had government agents visit me! Why do you get all the fun?

Maybe someday you too will have government agents ignore you.

This may seem out of the blue, but I have friended you, as I have been a steady reader of your work since your fanfiction.net days.

You see, I recently (or perhaps about a year ago) created a livejournal and then promptly abandoned it. But now I'm back and hoping to get some use out of this ol' thing.

I believe I've dropped you a few anonymous comments back in the day, but no longer.

Anyway, as to the actual topic of your post, I must say... that's really weird. Heh. Perhaps the aim of these agents' visit was just to raise doubts in your mind about your neighbors so you'll report them as soon as you notice any suspicious behaviors. I recommend keeping an eye out just in case the government is watching your every move.

Hey, thanks. Sorry it took me so long to answer this; I've been away from my email. Welcome to my rarely updated blog!
